The Michigan Center for Assisted Living (MCAL) has been the assisted living voice of the Health Care Association of Michigan (HCAM) since 1999. MCAL’s membership is comprised of licensed and unlicensed residential communities including independent living settings, homes for the aged, adult foster care and other assisted living settings serving the needs of elder adults and those needing supportive services.
For over 20 years MCAL has continued to grow to meet the needs of its members and their communities through the provision of many services and benefits, including regulatory analysis and support, advocacy efforts with state elected and regulatory officials, and media relations, along with strong educational programs to elevate staff and facility expertise.
As strong supporters of the organization, many MCAL members volunteer their time as member-elected board members and as voluntary committee members in various areas of interest.
MCAL engages at the national level as an affiliate of the National Center for Assisted Living (the Assisted Living Voice of the American Health Care Association) where MCAL members serve on various committees and with the NCAL Board of Directors.
